Harold Salsgiver is a Portland-based artist working with the Portland Art and Learning Studios (PALS). With all in-person galleries (and most studios) shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Salsgiver and PALS, working with local artist-curators sharedspace.etc (Tatiana Zancajo Lugo, Ezra Bergmann, and Connor Stockton), designed and built and interactive art exhibition featuring Salsgiver’s favored mediums: audio recording, ceramics, and drawing.

From the PALS website: “Salsgiver Bonanza Ranch is an interactive experience, much like a computer game. You— the Park Ranger— have a picnic basket that needs to be filled with snacks provided by Harold's animated ceramic creatures. Once your basket is full, you must journey to the gold mine where the picnic is being held.”

The playable experience of the Salsgiver Bonanza Ranch can be downloaded here.
